WHAT IS NUTRITIONAL THERAPY?
Nutritional Therapy is a practical approach and application of the latest theories and research in nutrition and health sciences with the aim to promote optimum health and peak performance.
In addition, Blanka is using the Functional Medicine model which is a client-centered science-based approach, addressing the root causes of individual health concerns rather than just individual symptoms. Functional Medicine, takes into consideration your diet, lifestyle, existing medical conditions and genetic factors to support your health in a personalized manner.
Nutrient deficiency is very common nowadays. This is often due to intensive farming methods which deplete the nutrients in the soil, pollution, stressed lifestyle and over-consumption of processed food to name a few…
It is the cumulative effect of decisions that we make about our health & lifestyle that can lead to many chronic diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, auto-immune conditions and mental health problems.
As a result, we may start to get:
energy slumps, cravings for sweets or stimulants, headaches, chronic pain, gastrointestinal dysfunction (bloating, heartburn, reflux, constipation, diarrhoea), skin eruptions, poor cognition, poor sleep, anxiety, negativity and depression, weight gain, morning stiffness or just feeling generally sluggish.
Does this sound familiar to you?
Changing eating patterns is more complex and difficult (especially if you already suffer from any chronic conditions) and this is why a personalized consultation with a certified nutritionist might be beneficial for you.
Sometimes we think that we are eating a supposedly” healthy diet” but foods that may be beneficial to one person might not be good for another. A professional review of your dietary habits could reveal potential dietary mistakes that may bea contributing to your health conditions.
What to expect from a consultation?
In all cases, a FREE 15-minute consultation is recommended to discuss if Nutritional Therapy consultation is what you are looking for and if your particular health condition(s) is within Blanka’s field of expertise.
After this free introduction, Blanka will email you a Food Diary Form and Health and Lifestyle questionnaire to enable her to best understand your health concerns, assess your nutritional status and learn about environmental, genetic and other factors that may affect your health.
The completed Food Diary Form is required to enable a thorough diet and lifestyle analysis, nutrient deficiency and new recommendations which can include your favourite food (whenever possible) so that your new diet is feasible.
90 minutes consultation via Skype or in person:
At the initial consultation, Blanka will explain how your diet and current lifestyle might be affecting your general health and specific condition(s) and will talk you through the main points taken from your completed Food Diary Form and Health and Lifestyle questionnaire that may have been identified as potential causes of this imbalance.
Blanka believes that educating clients about why specific changes are important (and what are the health consequences of not making those changes) play a significant part in clients’ empowerment and will help them to achieve their particular goal.
All recommendations are science-based and work around your current diet and lifestyle. It is important to implement specific changes and habits gradually to achieve a feasible and balanced lifestyle.
Blanka’s findings, advice and recommendations will be summarised in the Health and Nutrition Programme which includes a diet analysis report and a clear and specific action plan (also discussed during the consultation).
At your first consultation, Blanka may recommend some functional tests to confirm any suspected nutritional or systems imbalances. Some of these tests (e.g., iron levels, thyroid, and vitamin D) can be requested from your GP.
Other factors such as impaired digestion or absorption, a hormonal and/or brain chemical imbalance or an overburdened immune system might need further investigation.
Additionally, adding appropriate and specific nutritional supplements to your daily routine may be recommended as well. This will all be clearly explained in the Health and Nutrition Programme.
Follow up a consultation:
You may email Blanka during the 2-4 weeks after the initial consultation to discuss any test results, track the progress and adjust Health and Nutrition Programme if needed.
WHAT PEOPLE SAY
"I started with private yoga classes with Blanka, and now I progressed to Blanka’s group training sessions( body toning and Vinyasa yoga). She is excellent! She is full of energy, always in a good mood, which is exactly what you need after a long day at work. Private classes speak for themselves, but Blanka is giving you all the attention also in the group classes, correcting your posture, providing modifications and she always reminds you to inhale and exhale! Join the group; you will not regret it!"
